Today’s the first day we put our CTTT into action. September’s focus is on nghiêm tập, largely to prepare them for Bình Minh on Oct 4. We will also be using các em’s nghiêm tập skills to help sort them into their cấp.
8:00 – 8:10 — Morning Prayers – Tr. H (I’ll do attendance after you’re done)
8:10 – 8:20 — Rules/Expectations – all AN HT
8:30 – 8:50 — Love in Action activity – Tr. MK with everyone
8:50 – 9:00 — Break
9:00 – 9:20 — Lesson: Thế Nghỉ, Nghiêm, Hướng Tâm, Về Đất, Chào, Quay Phải/Trái/Đằng Sau – Tr. T, assisted by everyone else (split them in three groups first by grade level/age so we only have to sort the middle group either into cấp 1 or 2)
9:20 – 9:30 — Game – Tr. TN
9:30 – 9:45 — Gospel Reading and Closing Prayers, Prep for Mass (encourage them to use the bathroom before Mass) – Tr. H
*seated in pews by 9:50
**no food after 9:30 in fulfillment of Communion requirements–I don’t know if we’ll have snacks yet: we’re waiting on phụ hyunh donations first~ 🙂
We’ll go over “classroom rules” together, to help familiarize các em with their AN HT.
Tr. MK will cover manners, just the basics, including no talking while the teacher is talking because respect.
Tr. H and Tr. TN will both talk about proper uniform (divide it how you want).
Tr. T will talk about staying with the group and not wandering off without permission.
Let’s make the rules presentation lively and fun for them, okay? No lesson plan for this, but be sure you at least know what rule you’re covering~
I planned a craft for các em to introduce them to this year’s theme of Love in Action. The hearts will be pre-cut and pre-hole-punched, so all we’ll be bringing for the kids are the paper hearts, string, and crayons/markers. I may ask for your help in creating the hearts, depending on how efficiently I can punch holes and cut hearts. We’ll be using pink (read: light red) paper for the hearts, and I’ll bring my white and green yarns.
And we have our first practice for văn nghệ today, 12 – 3pm! Keep Nov 9 open in your schedules and come support các em! And celebrate with us as well, of course~
Peace out, everyone!
